Contact Fire Safety Before Work Begins
Contact Western Fire Safety before work begins if a special hazard fire protection system may be installed, modified, removed, tested, impaired, or otherwise affected.
This may include construction, maintenance, renovation, research changes, equipment changes, or operational changes that could affect the system or the hazard it protects.
Early review helps identify fire and life safety requirements before changes are made.
What Special Hazard Systems Support
Special hazard fire protection systems may be used where equipment, materials, processes, or other hazards require specialized protection beyond standard building systems.
These systems help protect people, property, equipment, research, operations, and critical spaces where fire risks may require additional controls or review.
System Impairments or Changes
Contact Western Fire Safety if a special hazard system is not working as intended, has discharged, is taken out of service, or may be affected by planned work.
Do not ignore alarms, warning indicators, system trouble conditions, or other signs that fire protection may be reduced.
Questions or Concerns
Contact Western Fire Safety with questions about special hazard fire protection requirements, system status, testing, maintenance, planned work, or other non-emergency fire safety concerns in a special hazard area.
Include the building name, specific location, system or equipment involved if known, and a brief description of the proposed work or concern.
For fire, smoke, an active alarm, a system discharge, or an immediate threat to life or safety, leave the area and call 911 from a safe location. Do not report an emergency by email.
